MCCLAIN HERMES
"Shoes for the Souls"
We want to celebrate our very own paralympic swimmer, McClain Hermes, by supporting her charity,
Shoes for the Souls. Please consider donating any new or gently used shoes the week of
October 3 - October 7. A service wagon will be available in the main lobby for the collection for one week. Dr. Edwards and the Advisement teachers will also teach a lesson to the 4th-8th grade students on "Overcoming Adversity" to accompany the service project.
We'll have other service opportunities throughout the year, so stay tuned!
Paralympic Update
The 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Teams have been invited to the White House for a "Red Carpet Event". Although the invitation did not mention President Obama's presence, he was present after London in 2012 so McClain is hopeful she will see him there.
