A Special Evening with Brenda Ladun
We are excited to kick off our Creating Positive Life Change series next Thursday, September 22, with Brenda Ladun, a favorite, prime-time ABC news anchor who is a breast cancer survivor. When faced with her personal storm, she inspired countless viewers who watched the nightly news as she underwent her courageous battle. Brenda, who describes herself as "wife, mother, author, news anchor, cancer survivor and believer," will share her story and the positive changes that worked for her. The event starts at 6:30 pm in Tyson Hall and is completely free. Please invite friends and neighbors to this exciting series.

Lace Up Your Running Shoes
Interested in running but not sure how to get started? Looking for a group to train with because you are tired of running alone? Want to run a race but aren't sure where to start? Whatever your motivation might be, let VHUMC help you achieve your goals. Our Health, Wellness, and Recreation Ministry is putting together a group of experienced and inexperienced runners to begin running and training together. Runners from any pace and ability level are welcome to join.

The group meets on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 5:30 am at the Lighthouse for shorter training runs, and Saturday mornings at 6:00 am in the Target parking lot for longer training runs on the Lakeshore running trail. Running routes will change weekly depending on group preference and needs. The ultimate goal of the group will be to train and run, or race, the Magic City 5K and Half Marathon on Sunday, November 20. Additional 5K and 10K race options are available.

So, lace up your running shoes and join us for running, racing, fellowship, and more! Contact Megan Drumm to sign-up ([email protected] / 769-0139). We look forward to seeing you on the running trail!
