Implementation of the Affordable  Care Act continues to be a work in progress. Six years after its passage The US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office for Civil rights finally issued regulations that  implement the ACA nondiscrimination provisions (Section 1557).

Learn more about the Final Rule as well ongoing efforts by groups such as I AM ESSENTIAL to ensure patient protections are enforced and access  barriers lifted, particularly for individuals with chronic disease or serious health conditions.
