Volunteers Needed for Ohio River Cleanup in Henderson County
Henderson County in conjunction with Henderson County Recycling and the City of Henderson will host a volunteer Ohio River cleanup on Saturday October 1, 2016 at Hayes Boat Ramp in Atkinson Park. The event begins at 9:00 am and ends at noon. Registration begins at 8:30 am.
Volunteers are needed for this event! Volunteers will walk along the shoreline of the Ohio River and collect trash and litter. Trash bags and gloves are provided and each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt.
This event is a great opportunity for families and community groups to help a great natural resource which provides drinking water, recreation and jobs to communities along the Ohio River. Children with adult supervision may volunteer.
This event is held in conjunction with the Ohio River Sweep, which occurred in June. The Ohio River Sweep is a riverbank cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River and many of its tributaries.
