Energy students kept busy over the summer and we are excited to feature their experiences in our weekly newsletter. This week learn about tenth grade student Gabriel Seyoum's summer experience at Stanford University.
This summer I attended a week-long digital filmmaking camp at Stanford University. The camp was hosted and curated by Digital Media Academy (DMA). The camp experience is by far one of the highlights of my life! I met amazing instructors, staff, and students! I had the opportunity to work with professional cameras, lighting equipment, and editing software. I learned a lot about the filmmaking process and
what life is like living on a college campus. If you are at all interested in Digital Media I suggest you check out Digital Media Academy. The program is not age-restricted, all age groups are welcome to participate in photography, game design, 3D-printing, virtual reality, and filmmaking courses (just to name a few). Digital Media Academy has courses at numerous college campus in North America. University of Houston happens to be one of them!

Open House for 10th - 12th Grades |
We hope to see parents of tenth through twelfth grade students tomorrow night at 6pm for Open House. You will have an opportunity to meet each of your child's teachers, learn about their cohort, and experience for yourself how learning is different at Energy!
Students will bring home a copy of their schedule tomorrow, in case you arrive on campus without your child's schedule you can pick it up in the cafeteria. Representatives from Energy Boosters PTO, DiscoverU, and Genesys Works will be in the cafeteria for parents to visit with and learn more about student opportunities and ways to get involved at Energy this year. Additional parking will be available in the student parking lot located behind our faculty parking lot. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!
Ninth grade families will have Open House next Thursday, September 15th at 6pm. See you then!
