Bethany UMC Seeks Communications Director
Bethany United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Communications Director. Responsibilities include managing and supervising external and internal communications including print and electronic media, and providing creative and marketing support to staf , church ministries and church members regarding BUMC programs and ministries. Other responsibilities include managing social media accounts, a promotional budget and support staff, updating the website, designing graphics and the church newsletter using the Adobe Suite of products.   
Requirements include a bachelor degree in communications, marketing or related field. Must be proficient in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office and WordPress.

UMW General Meeting

The UMW will host a general meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Following the program, members and guests are invited to enjoy dessert and a time of fellowship. All members of United Methodist Women as well as any other Bethany women or friends are invited to attend.

It's that time of year once again to "Think Tea"!
Three weeks from now, Bethany's 11th annual Autumn Tea Room will open its doors to the community and there are so many ways to help, even if you can't be there during Tea Room hours. The information center/sign-up boards are now on display in the hallway outside the Fellowship Hall.

Our motto: Funding Through Fellowship. All profits go to missions! We invite the entire community to help in this fundraising effort by inviting them to come dine and shop with their friends, family and co-workers
Volleyball for 4th to 8th Grade Girls
An instructional and open volleyball program for 4th to 8th grade girls will begin on Monday, Sept. 19 and run for six weeks. Clinics will run from 6 to 8 p.m. each Monday and the cost is $15 for the six week session.

The Friendship Circle Sunday School Class invites you to a Fall Fashion Show and Brunch with featured fashions from Dillard's on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds benefit families in need at Christmas. Checks may be made out to Friendship Circle.

Tickets will also be available near the Coffee Area located outside the Fellowship Hall between the 8:45 a.m. Worship Service and Sunday School and on Wednesday nights in the Fellowship Hall. During the week you can get tickets from Dana Wells in the church office.

Basketball
Bethany Ball: Community Basketball League

Basketball season is right around the corner! Registration is open to all boys and girls ages 6-12, as well as ages 13-14 for our junior division and 15-17 year-olds for our senior division. Registration will begin on Sept. 19 for our returning players, as well as Bethany members. Bethany members receive a $10 discount. Registration will open to the general public Monday, Oct. 3. We will once again be offering a sibling discount of $10.  Space is limited for each group, so register early. Register on our website at www. bethanygym.com.

Cookies for Kairos
Homemade Cookies are a tangible example of Agape love and are used to display Christ's love through his servants to the prisoners at Lieber. Please consider baking cookies to be a part of this important ministry. All cookies need to be packaged in non-metal containers including no tinfoil. This is a Lieber rule. Shoe and pizza boxes are excellent containers, but are not required.
Please bring cookies to the Fellowship Hall prior to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
 
Prayers are also needed for the weekend. Sign-up sheets will be distributed to Sunday School classes to be a part of the prayer vigil for this ministry. Sept. 21 Menu:
Meals are $7 for adults and $4 for children,
with a family maximum of $20.
Adult Menu: Chicken Bog, Succotash and Salad Bar
Kids Menu: Hot Dog, Baked Beans and Apple Sauce Cup
