In addition to Portland's annual Greenfest and the 40th annual Common Ground Country Fair, it is also National Drive Electric Week, Maine Outdoor Weekend, and so much more! Portland Greenfest 2016 - this weekend!
Come say hi at the 3rd annual Portland Greenfest this Saturday, September 10th from 10am - 4pm in Monument Square. Check out over 50 exhibitors highlighting renewable energy, local foods, electric cars, clean water, wildlife, green products for your home or business, ways to get involved in greening your community & lots more! With music, kids activities, and handy workshops, there's sure to be something for everyone. Greenfest is FREE and will happen rain or shine.

Celebrate National Drive Electric Week!
National Drive Electric Week is September 10-18, and Maine is getting in on the action with some fun events! On Saturday, September 10th, check out the Electric Vehicle Expo happening in South Paris. And on Sunday the 11th, head over to South Portland for an afternoon of activities including test drives, previews of the latest models, and conversations with EV owners. Take the NRCM Food Waste Challenge
Did you know 40% of all the food grown for human consumption in the US is wasted? Want to do something about it? Join the Natural Resources Council of Maine for their Sustainable Maine Food Waste Challenge, running from September 7th (that's today!) until October 7th. Once you take the pledge, the NRCM will help you along with helpful tips and tricks to reduce your food waste, and you can track your progress as you go. A healthy fall lawn makes for a happy spring
