Reflection:  Celebrating Our Theological Diversity and How!

Friends, this Sunday is going to be a rich and important service.  Not only will we explore the question of UUCGT's theological diversity - from atheism to theism and all the places in between - it is the process we will use to explore this that is also important.

If the current election cycle has taught us anything, it is that it is difficult for us to have meaningful public conversations around challenging issues.  In this Sunday service we will model briefly a process I witnessed at the UUA General Assembly called the Public Conversations Process.

Each of us has a chance to speak our truth, to be heard and even to disagree, but the Public Conversations Process gives us tools to have these conversations in deep respect and peace.

I hope you will be able to join us.

In blessing -
Rabbi Chava

Sunday Service
Sunday, August 21
10:30 a.m. Service:  "Good G_d! ... or Not So Much?  How Can We   Create Real Dialogue and Why We Should"  -   Rabbi Chava Bahle
Our congregation, like all congregations, is home to a range of a/theologies.  In this service we will explore the range of theologies we live and reflect on how we can live together in peace and mutual respect.

This Sunday for Children and Youth
10:30 a.m.

We regret that programming for Children will be cancelled for this week due to the lack of volunteers.  Many thanks to Bob Fitch for his generous offer to lead a lesson.

A Nursery Assistant is needed  this week so that the nursery can be open - please contact Sarah ASAP if you can help.

Friends, we are in desperate need of volunteers to staff our programs - for all ages!  Without your assistance, programming will not be possible. Please consider contacting Sarah to volunteer.

ATTENTION PARENTS

Registration for 2016/2017 programming for Children and Youth begins NOW.  Please click HERE to download the forms.  Completed forms need to be returned to Sarah BY SEPTEMBER 11TH.  Forms can be mailed, scanned and emailed, faxed, sent by carrier pigeon, whatever!  Please just turn them in.

REMINDER - even if you completed forms last year, you need to complete new forms.  New registration is required at the start of each programming year - this includes those children who use the Nursery.  Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED

Lifespan Experience Committee is beginning our search for volunteers for the 2016-2017 program year!  Without volunteers, programming for all ages will not be possible.

PLEASE consider volunteering even once or twice/month in our various programs - especially in our classrooms on Sunday mornings!  Our classrooms span from preschool-12th grade, and there are lots of options for you to choose from.  Please contact Sarah as soon as possible to get involved - we currently have less than half of the volunteers needed to staff our existing Sunday morning programs for children and youth. This does not factor in anything new that we would like to offer.
