Claude Aska 
East Coast Director

   

Claude brings to Generation Schools Network a significant wealth of experience in education, youth development and nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining GSN, Claude served as a consultant on Membership Engagement for the Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA), where he led the successful launch of a national skills-based volunteer program that was the result of a partnership with JPMorgan Chase. Prior to CBMA, Claude co-directed the start-up and development of two New Century High schools, where he developed a New York City-wide internship program. Claude has also directed grant writing activities at Youthline America for the OneVote initiative, which was designed to inspire high school seniors to become civically engaged in their communities, and to register and vote in all local and national elections. Claude has a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from Baruch College, CUNY; and a Master of Arts in Modern Poetry from The City College, CUNY.

Ellen Sarkisian
Education & Development Associate


Ellen moved to Boulder, Colorado, from San Anselmo, California, to study elementary education and communications with an emphasis in advertising at the University of Colorado, then worked as a fifth grade and ELL teacher at McKinley Thatcher Elementary (Denver Public School). Passionate about the scientific understanding and practice of teaching and learning, Ellen subsequently earned her Master's degree in Learning Sciences at Northwestern University. She is thrilled to be joining the GSN team where she can apply her knowledge and skills to designing for educational change.

Anna Stamer
GSN Communications VISTA

 

Anna is originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in communication studies and a double minor in child, adult, and family services, as well as journalism. During Anna's time at Iowa State she was heavily involved with a dance marathon that directly raised money for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. This past year she was also involved with the grassroots company BANGs Shoes, as a mentor for the program. Throughout Anna's VISTA year, she is working with various social media platforms to engage and effectively communicate with schools and community members.

Natasha Patel
Expelled & At-Risk Student Services VISTA

  

Natasha is originally from Dayton, OH and recently graduated from the University of Michigan where she studied biopsychology, cognition, neuroscience and environmental studies. Some of her favorite past times include cooking, going on adventures, and being an activist. Natasha's VISTA work includes helping GSN improve community engagement by expanding the local network and serving as liaison between GSN's rural programs and headquarters through the EARSS programs taking place in the South Central and San Luis Valley BOCES.
