Join us in L.A. for our Sept 17 Trip to Trendsetter!

Trendsetter

We're once again heading to Trendsetter in Van Nuys this Saturday, September 17! We went last year and had so much fun that our friends at Trendsetter invited us all back for another trip! Shopping the Trendsetter warehouse is an experience that's hard to beat.

Saturday morning we'll start at 10AM with a Fashion Show and a talk from Barry Klein, founder and head of Trendsetter Yarns, that's sure to inspire you! Then you'll get the opportunity to shop the 10,000 sq foot warehouse! Yes, we have a lot of yarn from Trendsetter and Lana Grossa in the shop, but even we can't carry it all. So this is your opportunity to see all the yarns they have and get it right away at the warehouse! As before, there will be savings involved, but even better is the opportunity to see the latest yarns and the latest patterns and go home with your next project.... or two.... or three...

Thanks so much. We look forward to seeing you in Van Nuys!

Cashmere Cowl
The Cashmere Collection!

This beautiful new yarn from Cardiff has us seriously in love. It's 100% Cashmere with a very soft boucle. It's spun in Italy and we had the great pleasure of meeting the gentleman that spins this. He selects the very finest cashmere and goes to great lengths to make sure it's as luxurious as cashmere should be.

We designed this simple cowl from only 2 skeins. It's knit on US 13s and is all just garter stitch! As you might imagine, it goes very fast. Great for a quick gift for that special someone, or for yourself! (You deserve it)

The yarn is available in only natural colors and we love them all!  Click here to see all 4 colors . Ask us for the free pattern when you order!

East Village Poncho
The East Village Poncho

One of Kris's most popular designs, the East Village Poncho has been re-knit in Manos del Uruguay's new yarn MiloMilo is a delightful blend of Merino and Linen in a variety of semi-solid, kettle-dyed colors.

It's a simple project, knit all in one piece. You can wear it two ways so you either get a traditional poncho, or turn it sideways and get an asymmetrical V-neck!

Want it longer? Just knit more!

Only 3 skeins makes this beautiful piece so it's not only beautiful, it's very affordable.

Auntie Wooly
Auntie Wooly Says...

Dahlings!

As I travel around, I obviously visit yarn shops.

I've been thinking about the importance of the LYS (Local Yarn Store), and it struck me that a local yarn shop is like a concierge service for fiber! Rather than only providing one yarn for limited time and then moving on, a good shop is always researching, looking for a variety of products and projects for crafters of all skills and abilities. In  addition, they tend to be a place where one can drop in for help with a project.

I' bring this up, thinking that knowing how much your purchase means to a LYS might help you make choices to keep our community resources alive.

Until next time...

Happy Stitching!

Construction Worker
Construction Updates - Potential shop interruptions !

They are doing work on the roof of our building which means, due to safety concerns while they are on the roof over our shop, we must be closed on those days. It's a construction project which means timing is fluid. The schedule right now is that we may be closed on Tuesday September 27, Wednesday the 28, and Thursday the 29th. That may change, so if you're making a special trip, please check our web site, our Facebook page, or revelry page, or give us a call.

Keep an eye on our web site and/or our Facebook page and/or Ravelry page in case of any changes.

We also understand the idea of "Yarn Emergencies" so we will be checking email and voice mail even while we're closed. We're here for you!

Yes, we'll be fine. It's an old roof and it needs to be done before it rains.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you so much for your understanding!
In Class
Save the dates - our Weekend Away 2017 is March 24 - 26!

Cobblestone Wrap
Want a fun, easy to knit project? The
Cambria Cobblestone Wrap is the perfect thing! Done with only knits and purls, knitters at all skill levels can easily do this fun project. We made ours with 6 skeins of Noro Silk Garden. The best part? We did 6 different color ways! With all those great colors in Noro, we found we didn't have to worry about matching each skein, so we just chose colors we liked and started knitting.
