MCWHIRTER ASTRONAUTS 'SHOW & TELL'
Th ank you to the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Education Division and Young Professionals group for their interest in their local schools!  The group, (who also donated a large amount of school supplies during their visit) got the scoop on the new McWhirter Elementary School, and toured the even newer Pre-K program, science lab and more. The visitors were also among the first to hear the new Learner's Creed from students, in Spanish and in English, and learned about how Communities in Schools and the Clear Creek Education Foundation  impact this school and many others in CCISD.
ROBONAUTS CLINCH SUMMER UIL WIN
The CCISD Robonauts took first place in the inaugural UIL Robotics State Championship this summer and were recognized at the recent Board of Trustees Meeting for their achievement! Way to go students!
COLLEGE COLORS DAY
CCISD students of all ages celebrated National College Colors Day 2016 in style by wearing a colored or spirit shirt for their favorite college!
FALCONS SPREADING PK-12 SPIRIT
Members of the Clear Lake High School football team visited Falcon Pass Elementary where they greeted students with a smile and a high-five in the hallway!
PARR PATRIOT TO THE RESCUE
Parr Elementary fourth-grader  Dae'reon Durham went above and beyond to help his bus driver, Judy Steele, when she suddenly became ill behind the wheel while transporting students home from school. Dae'reon's actions that day ensured Ms. Steele and the rest of the 50 students on board remained safe until they reached the next bus stop to get her help. Not only was the nine-year-old Parr Patriot celebrated at school the next day, but his story was also covered on ABC 13 last week!
BROOKSIDE PROWL PATROL
The Brookside Intermediate "Core Values Prowl Patrol" was out and about last week looking for students and staff who showed Respect, their core value of focus for the first six weeks of school. These students and staff members were nominated by their peers, parents, and staff members for demonstrating Respect this week and received a "Prowl Patrol" shout out on the morning announcements each day.
CLEAR SPRINGS STUDENTS SERVING OTHERS
Clear Springs High School Student United Way held their first service project of the school year last weekend. More than 40 students traveled to Galveston to spend the day serving food for the less fortunate.
