WHAT WE DO MATTERS!
Recently one of the Hillcrest Children's Home houseparents encountered a parent of some former residents.
"Are you one of those parents at Hillcrest?"   I looked at her, puzzled, and said, "Yes I am, how did you know?" She then laughs, I'm sure at my bewildered expression, and says, "It's your shirt." I was wearing a 70th anniversary Hillcrest shirt. I then laughed with her and again said that I was in fact a houseparent with Hillcrest.
She then began to tell me her story of having 4 children taken away several years ago, and that because of Hillcrest she was able to sober up, get her life on track, and get full custody back of all 4 of her children. She said that Hillcrest was such a blessing during a dark time in her life, and that the support, counseling, and overall encouragement she received from our campus is what she attributes to their life today. She also said that "It definitely helped knowing my kids were in a place where they were cared for and they were happy." She said that ever since then, she has been completely sober, living life, and has a happy home.
Each day is filled with fresh stories, like this one, of redeeming grace for fatherless kids and their families.   What describes each one of those stories?
  • No longer hungry
  • Welcomed at 3am
  • Adopted.
  • Safe.
  • Tutored forward in school.
  • Dental braces.
  • Corrective lens.
  • Connected to Jesus.
  • Helped to college.
  • Rebuilding trust.
  • Reunited with family.
  • And more.
Through supporters of COMP ACT, near and far, lives of kids are being changed and families are being redeemed.  What is being done at COMP ACT matters.

REDEEMING FAMILY SINCE 1944
Between the ministries of Hillcrest (72 years) and Highlands (50 years), approximately 8,000 children, youth, and families have been served.  To date in 2016, 155 children have been aided by the programs in this ministry.

URGENT NEED
As students on our campus are aging out of the foster care system, they are provided an opportunity to move into our Transitional Living Center building.
TLC is currently home to 11 residents and is in desperate need of 4 air/heat units for four of the apartments.  Each unit is approx. $650 and the total need for all four units is $2600.

Can you help with this need?
