More News - your STM weekly insights into discovering More

More News
(The newsletter formerly known as Family Flyer)
Thank you!

Parents of our wonderful children here at St. Thomas More Catholic School, we want to  thank you   first and foremost for doing such fantastic work as parents and making the choice to be a part of the STM community! Thank you also for your patience as we transitioned from the former Family Flyer format to More News. This year is a year of renewal and revival with many new faces and ideas in the fold.

Below you will find the highlights of what is going on at the school and what is on the horizon. Please remember that you and your children are our best marketing resources and we need your help to spread the word about events and the school. Whether that is by word-of-mouth or by social media, every bit counts and helps! Together, we are MORE!

Ways in which you can help others discover MORE:
  • Come to the office and pick up a MoreFest yard sign (and help spread the word)
  • Continue to sell those MoreFest raffle tickets like crazy!
  • We need more Google reviews (even if you don't write anything)
  • We could use greater Facebook exposure
  • Our website has many useful resources
Thank you and I am excited to be here at St. Thomas More Catholic School!

James Olsen

Pinwheels for Peace

The entire St. Thomas More Community will participate in World Peace Day on Wednesday, September 21.

Each student will take a pinwheel he or she helped to create and place it on the boulevard.  It is our hope that the collection of pinwheels will help inspire "whirled" peace.  :)

The festivities will take place at 9:30 am.

MoreFest 2016

MoreFest 2016 is only weeks away!  Come join the party on Saturday, October 1 from
12PM-8:30PM.

For the kids, there will be games, crazy hair, and inflatables! This year, we will also feature our new Advancement Director, Mr. Olsen, in the dunk tank (and some Jesuit novices too).

For the adults, there will be a beer and wine tent as well as the ever popular Wine Ring Toss and Prize Lotto.

You also don't want to miss the  RAFFLE DRAWING!  Grand prize is $1500, with two secondary winners of $500 each.

Schedule:
12PM-4PM Festival
4:30PM Mass
5:30PM-8:30PM Spaghetti Dinner ($5 Indiv/$20 Family), bingo, and raffle draw

Come for the food, stay for the camaraderie, and have some fun!

Thank you all from the Parrish Family!

The Parrish Family (Gene - former STM PE teacher and his wife Barbie) want to extend their thanks to the STM community and the many teachers who donated books to them for the Heritage Days Parade in Bloomington this coming weekend. The books will be handed out to children during the parade. They will be distributing over 1500 books thanks to your participation. Thank you for giving so generously!

Please pray for the repose of former STM Head Engineer Tom Rowe's soul as he sadly passed away this Wednesday morning. He will be missed and we lift him and his family in our prayers.
Lord, hear our prayer!
