School bells rang in a new year of new beginnings for our kids last week. Thanks to all of you, 750 of those kids went back to school equipped with backpacks full of new school supplies. Super cool!

For kids, the excitement of reconnecting with old friends or making new ones, figuring out where to be when, sizing up new teachers and coaches, getting with new protocols and routines, and beginning to claim their own pace and space, will slowly give way to a new "OK I got this" normal.

Your generous support of the Great Expectations campaign will help make that new normal one of fresh opportunities to get and stay on the path to school success -- all along the way. Heartfelt thanks!

Volunteer opportunities to provide homework and reading help and/or join Great Expectations age group Action Teams are still available. Simply complete this form to sign up or learn more.

Let's make it a great year for our great kids!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: SUSAN DANKLE

Susan Dankle is putting her college degree in retail merchandising to good use! Susan volunteers in ReSale 101 to help create displays, design the overall look of the store and manage women's accessories.

"Volunteering in the store is heartwarming!" says Susan. "It's so rewarding to see people's excitement as they pick out coats, hats and gloves before winter hits. Our customers are so appreciative of what they receive, and I love the level of respect families feel from shopping in a real store -- just like they would at Target."

We wish ReSale a happy fifth birthday in October!  Big thanks to Susan and her fellow volunteers who make ReSale come to life every day!
