Condo and Townhouse Summit Reminder
Dear Neighbor,

The Chicago Police Department recently made  three arrests  in connection with a series of  incidents that occurred on August 29th   involving assailants brandishing a knife who stole victims'  belongings,  as we reported in our newsletter . One of these incidents occurred in the 43rd Ward. 

The police also apprehended a thief who stole thousands of dollars worth of goose down coats from Moosejaw on Clybourn. 

We thank the Chicago Police Department for their diligent and speedy efforts in apprehending these individuals. We'll keep you updated about Court Advocacy on these cases.   

Please continue to assist the police and report suspicious activity to 9-1-1, and always be sure to be aware of your surroundings. 

18th District Community Alert 
Armed Robbery Suspect
  
The 18th District of the Chicago Police Department has put out a  Community Alert  regarding a suspect who took part in an armed robbery on August 21st on the 2100 Block of North Lincoln Ave. The subject was last seen between the 2100 and 2600 blocks of N. Lincoln Ave after the robbery riding a bicycle.

Come to Green City Market's  Edible Gardens ,  on  Saturday, September 17th at 9:30 AM, located at the Lincoln Park Zoo's Farm in the Zoo just across the street from the Green City Market.  There will be  an extensive tour of the Edible Gardens to get an insider's lo ok at the crop varieties that thrive in our Midwest region.

Beach Clean-Up this Saturday

Come out on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the North Avenue Beach for the Alliance for the Great Lakes' September Adopt-a-Beach Event. This day of service involves thousands of volunteers who cleanup beaches around the Great Lakes region. The Alliance will be at North Ave. Beach and would love you to join. The World's Smallest Block Party

Head down to St. Teresa of Avila Church at the corner of Armitage and Seminary this  Saturday, September 17th from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM for the second annual "World's Smallest Block Party."   Enjoy live music, kids activities,  fun raffle prizes,  delicious food and drink including  Paulina Meat Market Brats and beer from 5 Rabbit Brewery.  Admission is free and all are welcome. Proceeds benefit St. Teresa of Avila Parish and Outreach Programs.
