Help us gather supplies!

Our lovely annual garden event,  Art in the Garden, is September 16th from 3:30-6:00 p.m . We need your help gathering supplies so our students can create their masterpieces!

You may drop these items off in the buckets located in the school lobby:
  • cardboard tubes from toilet paper, gift wrap or paper towel rolls
  • beads
  • bells
  • google eyes
  • old silverware or trinkets that could hang as a chime
  • smaller pieces of scrap wood

Auction class parties scheduled

The Auction is Prairie's largest fundraiser of the year, and it kicks off with individual class parties. These parties are a great way to meet other parents in your student's grade, and helps jump start the fundraising process.

Be watching your email for an evite with specific details for your party (be sure to check your SPAM folder just in case the email isn't delivered).
  • Kindergarten -  9/30,  Sara & Jason Dippel
  • 1st Grade -  10/22, Christy & Charles Sanders
  • 2nd Grade -  10/8, Gabrielle & Joe Beam
  • 3rd Grade -  9/16, David Zugelder & Jennifer Cuscino
  • 4th Grade -  10/1, Rachel & Colby LaHue

Understanding block scheduling

SMSD has moved to a block scheduling format for class specials (art, library, PE, music), meaning these electives no longer happen on a specific day of the week.

Here's how to unravel the mystery:
  • Every special is assigned letters A, B, C or D. This letter corresponds to one of the specials, and will be different for each class and grade.
  • Example: In Mrs. Frame's class, A=PE/Music, B=Art, C=Music/PE and D=Library. You would refer to the chart linked below to figure out which days those students have these specials.
