Don't miss the regional premiere of the lyrical new musical by world-renowned musician STING! Pioneer Theatre Company is the only regional theatre in the country given the honor of producing Sting's original production.

"I saw things in [The Last Ship] that I thought would resonate with Utahns - maybe more than elsewhere," [Director/Choreographer Karen Azenberg] said. "Generational heritage and family offer huge connections here, and I've learned that some  shows have a stronger life regionally than on Broadway."

Drawing on his own childhood memories, world-renowned musician Sting has fashioned a moving musical about the small shipbuilding town in northern England in which he grew up. A young man returns after years at sea to find the girl he left behind, and discovers that however far you roam, a piece of you always remains in the place you first called home.

That theme alone could keep a director-and an audience-engaged, but what makes this play so relevant, and affecting, is how this theme...
