EID AL-ADHA IN THE NEWS
 
Eid Al-Adha was celebrated on Monday, September 12th by millions of Muslims around the globe. Locally, Orange County Muslims from ICOI, IIOC, ISOC and WCIS, all four Shura Council members, celebrated together at Anaheim Stadium.

Eid Celebrations continue this weekend. CSULB's MSA continues it's Eid at the Beach this Saturday. Also, SAC-LA will be holding an Eid Picnic in Irvine.

Meanwhile, the pilgrims are completing their Hajj in Makkah. Saudi authorities report over 1.8 million pilgrims this year. We wish Hajj Mabrur to all the pilgrims and may you return home safely.

Shura Council Majlis member and Sahaba Initiative co-founder, Arbazz Mohammed, talks about the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and what  Muslims are---and aren't.

Others wonder, should we have hope or despair? 15 years later.

The Shura Council's Muslim Speakers Network educates the greater community about Islam and Muslims and  promotes religious literacy and mutual respect through on-site presentations. Your donations can help us expand our network.

Open Mosque Day 2016 is the Muslim community's opportunity to dispel myths about Muslims and Islam. Sunday, October 23, 2016 has been designated Open Mosque Day. Click here to see a list of participating centers. This list is updated frequently.

The Shura Council congratulates Rusty Kennedy, Executive Director of the Orange County Human Relations, a Shura Council interfaith partner, on receiving the Beacon of Light award from Fairview Community Church on Saturday, September 17th. Tickets are still available.
