Government funding for emergency shelters is being reduced.

Until domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking are eliminated in Placer County, we need help to ensure that victims have a safe place to escape their violent environments.

When you support Stand Up Placer, you are providing a safe space, therapy, life skills, legal advocacy, peace of mind and a lifeline for a brighter and safer future.

Human Trafficking  HT2
We were recently awarded a grant by the California Office of Emergency Services to provide a Human Trafficking Victim Assistance Program.

Our Human Trafficking services began on April 1 with the addition of  our new Human Trafficking Services team - Lauren Conklin, Human Trafficking Services Coordinator and Aurora Pettett, Human Trafficking Outreach Specialist.

These wonderful new fun additions to the team have already made an impact in the community and will be instrumental in expanding services for survivors and expanding outreach efforts for human trafficking in Placer County.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Stand Up Placer has played a big part in events throughout the county. The following calendar of events will give you a good overview of our activities during the month.  Our Sexual Assault Services Team, led by Amy M has been very busy.
Out at the State Capitol participating with the Crime Victims United 26th annual Victims March on the Capitol we were educating the community about sexual assault, intimate partner violence, human trafficking and the services that Stand Up Placer provides.
Stand Up Placer is joining 569 other nonprofits on May 3rd to participate in the Big Day of Giving.

From midnight to midnight on May 3rd we are asking you to consider making an online donation ($25 minimum) to support our survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

Visit us online here to make a donation on May 3rd.

Denim Day is April 27, 2016.
The Denim Day campaign was originally triggered by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim. Since then, wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.
On May 17, 2016, Stand Up Placer will be joining the STOP Human Trafficking panel discussion at 6 pm at the Auburn State Theater, 985 Lincoln Way.

On May 20th, Friends of Auburn Library's NOON program will feature a Stand Up Placer presentation on  Human Trafficking.
