Sports
"My mission is the youth! My vision is to have little kids playing flag, women flag and a juvenile team." Eduardo Cordoba, coach and organizer has been in the newspaper, on local TV and radio stations getting the word out about upcoming games and promoting this relatively new sport in Nicaragua, "The women's team will face the team of El Salvador at 1:00 pm, at the Thomas Cranshaw stadium in Managua, while the males will play 2:30 pm, against Club Leones de Cartago of Costa Rica."     Click here for news article

The flag football teams started about 2-3 years ago and have been practicing vigorously ever since to prepare for the upcoming games. "Our clubs started as a new project focused on young people and an opportunity for them to develop in a sport that requires a lot of teamwork and discipline," said Cordoba.
The "AsociaciĆ³n Guerreros de Nicaragua" offers traditional American football along with male and female flag football teams. This Saturday September 3, will be two international matches.

Bike/Hike event coming soon.....
The main objective for the event is to raise awareness in Wisconsin and Nicaragua, and we know it does...this year we have 10 event sponsors from Nicaragua!  Contact our office or stay tuned for registration forms that will be available mid-September.

".. one day I wore one of the Bike/Hike shirts. At the end of my shift, one of the other employees commented on my shirt and told me that he was involved in the organization and had traveled to Nicaragua to deliver items! I didn't catch his name, but it was such a coincidence! I thought it was pretty cool :) " - Claire Gorman, UWSP student
