Countryside New s
New: Secured Building Entrance
This year Countryside will be piloting a camera/buzzer system to help monitor and control access to our school.  During the school day, visitors will be required to use the button located by the main entry doors (Door 1 outside our school).  The camera/buzzer system will be activated during the school day, beginning at 9:20 AM.  For student pick-up at the end of the school day, the front doors will be unlocked at 3:40 PM.  Visitors will push the button monitored by Countryside staff who will "buzz" in accepted guests.  You may be asked your name and purpose for your visit.  Upon entering, please sign in at our front office.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we implement this new security system.
Safety Drills
Student Safety (Lockdown) Drills

All schools in the state of Minnesota are required to practice emergency procedures (lockdowns), in addition to our usual fire and severe weather drills.  These student safety drills will take place five times during the year, and will be preceded by classroom instruction for students.  Each of the buildings in the district has developed procedures that will ensure the knowledge of staff and the safety and comfort of students.
Parent Pick-Up Reminders

The parent pick-up and drop-off routine is going well, and to ensure the safety of students and the convenience for the adults, please take note of a few reminders below.  Thank you in advance for your understanding, patience and willingness to follow the procedures in place.
  • Maintain a 5mph or less speed.
  • Do not let your child into your vehicle until you are parallel to the sidewalk.
  • Children will not be allowed to cross traffic to get into your vehicle.
    • o   Please do not wave your children through lanes of traffic or into the parking lot.
  • Maintain a four feet or less distance to the vehicle in front of you.
  • If you wish to walk up and get your child from the sidewalk, please park in a marked parking space before getting out of your vehicle.
  • Countryside staff members will be in the area to assist students and parents with the process.  This is a thankless job for staff.  Your courtesy to them and adherence to the process is so very much appreciated.
Visitor Parking Area:
  • Visitor parking is located on the north side of the building.  Please use the crosswalk when approaching or leaving the building.  Thank you in advance for being great role models for students as you approach our building.

Visits During Lunch Hours
Joining Us For Lunch?

We love it when parents join their children for lunch here at school.  As you make plans to be here, please keep a few things in mind:
  • Always stop in the office to sign in and obtain a visitor's badge.
  • If you are purchasing a school lunch, please call the Countryside kitchen at 952-848-4737 by 9:30AM on the day you are coming to make your "reservation."  This is important for planning purposes in our kitchen.
  • Remember - We are a "Soda Free" zone.  Thank you in advance for being a good role model for our students.
Media Center News
Countryside Media Center Parent Volunteer Sign-Up!

If you are interested in helping out in the media center, please fill out the information below! The Media Center is truly the heart of the school with every student visiting us usually once a week. As a volunteer, there are always books to check-in or check-out, organizing or shelving.  We need you!  Ideally, we would like to have 2 volunteers each day, one for the morning and one in the afternoon. If you know you won't be able to make it one week, you can reach out to one of the other parents to see if they can come in your place instead.
Once we have everyone's names gathered, we will contact you about the final schedule.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Kathy Koepp ([email protected]), or Cristine Danielson ([email protected]).

Room Parents Needed

Hello Parents of 4th Grade!

Welcome to 4th grade. Our teachers have an amazing year planned for your kids.

We are looking for volunteers to be room parents this year. Multiple room parents for each room is ideal, so even if can dedicate a couple of hours a month, it's a great way to stay connected with your child's classroom, teacher, and friends!  Many of us juggle multiple commitments, making it difficult to get away, but some of the projects teachers need help with can be done from your home.

If you would like to be a room parent, please send me an email ([email protected] ) with your availability and teacher's name.

Thanks!
