New Shopping and Dining Guide Out
Downtown Partners, assisted by the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission, has distributed an all new map and directory for downtown shopping, dining, and entertainment options. It can be downloaded at
GreaterBurlington.com
. Printed copies were also distributed. We will be tweaking the online version and plan to print an updated one in early 2017.

Sip, Taste & Stroll: An Evening of Wine, Beer, and Food Samples
It's always a great time! The Fall Sip, Taste & Stroll takes place on Friday, September 30 from 5 to 8 PM. Join your friends and sample some new tastes while browsing the great shops in downtown Burlington.
Advance tickets are $15 per person at the Iowa Store and Weird Harold's available through September 24. They are also available online at
GreaterBurlington.com
. Tickets are $20 the day of the event and will be available at the registration sites - The Iowa Store or The Washington. The ticket gets you a complimentary glass and location map.

Farmers Market Wraps Up Season
The Jefferson St. Farmers Market will continue through the end of the month, with the final market of the season on September 29. On September 16, join us for the pie eating contest, with prizes for the winners! A special thanks to Great Western Bank for their support of the market. It has been a very successful year.

144 Envelopes - Your Support Is Appreciated!
Downtown Partners board members are approaching area individuals and businesses for a unique fundraiser. The idea is to receive donations corresponding to a dollar amount on an envelope, from $1 to $144. This stands to be a significant fundraiser in which no one person or entity is asked to contribute a major amount. Plans are underway for a special thank you reception for all donors and their guests in the former Elks ballroom above The Washington on October 11 with food, beverages, live music, and a silent auction.
Downtown Partners works hard to present special events, encourage building and business improvement, and beautify the city center. We hope you will show your support for our activities by contributing at a level that is meaningful to you.

Start Planning Now - Lighted Holiday Parade
Downtown Partners' Lighted Holiday Parade will take place on Jefferson Street on Saturday, November 26 at 5 PM. Although it seems like a long way off, it's not too early to start planning your entry! This year's theme will be "We Believe." Download the parade entry form at

The grand opening of the new Hopefully Yours store at 617 Jefferson takes place with a street fest on September 29 starting at 1:00. The staff and customers can't wait! The design of the first new building on Jefferson in over forty years integrates wonderfully with its historic neighbors.

Work is wrapping up at the new Burlington Bent River Brewing Co. at 500 Jefferson, with a target opening date of October 1. After nearly four decades of being a functionally abandoned eyesore in the heart of our city, the former JC Penney building will once again be bringing people downtown!

Retail marketing specialist Margie Johnson will be presenting multiple sessions at Main Street Iowa's fall workshop in Mount Pleasant on October 5 - 6. Congratulations to Wendy Klein of Bella Ragazza for tying for first place in Main Street Iowa's statewide Open 4 Business competition! Her total award of $19,000 will be used to boost the inventory and marketing for her business at 218 Jefferson.
