The Art of Dentistry

Artists create with paint, clay, and canvas. For dental students, the materials are melted wax, porcelain, and dental alginate. Their artistry is developed in preclinic, where first- and second-year students learn the "hand skills" and science needed to practice dentistry. Tailgate Time
RU Football and Other events for Alums

Alums, you are appreciated! That's why you're invited to see the Scarlet Knights in action on September 17, Alumni Appreciation Day. Recent and not-so-recent RSDM grads can meet and mingle at a brunch-style tailgate party as the Knights face off against the New Mexico Lobos. RSDM faculty and staff are also welcome. The full brunch-style buffett, served under a private tent next to High Point Stadium, starts at 9:30 a.m. To register and find more information, go here. RSDM Goes West
Students Work at Clinic on Reservation

Many residents of the Navajo Nation reservation in Red Mesa, Arizona live 50 miles or more from the nearest dental clinic.  "I treated patients who hadn't been to the dentist in years,'' said fourth-year student Aileen Zaydel. She and seven other students were part of RSDM's annual mission to the region's Indian Health Services dental clinic.  LEARN MORE
