Attention Cyclists and Trail Enthusiasts: Help Folsom Go for the Gold!
The League of American Bicyclists is conducting an online survey to collect data from community members including how frequently bicyclists ride, accessibility of bike paths and bike safety measures. Results of the survey will be used by the League to help determine Folsom's ranking level as a Bicycle Friendly City. The information will also be used by the city to prioritize updates to the Bikeway Master Plan. The deadline to complete the survey is Thursday, September 15. Take the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/FolsomBFC .
Only four of California's 57 Bicycle Friendly Communities have achieved the Gold Level status. Folsom is currently ranked a Silver Level, an honor that formally recognizes the city's commitment to bicycling as a safe and viable alternative to automobile use, community health and wellness, recreation, congestion mitigation and air quality improvement. Achieving a Gold Level designation will enhance grant opportunities to expand Folsom's treasured trail system, and strengthen the city's economy through tourism and business attraction and retention.
The League of American Bicyclists will announce Folsom's ranking in November. Visit http://bikeleague.org  for more information about the League of American Bicyclists.
