LHS Open House - TONIGHT
Please join us for the LHS Open House taking place on Monday, September 12th from 6:30 - 8 pm.
Please arrive a little early to pick up your student's schedule from the Cafeteria/Commons.
There will be a 10th Grade Parent Meeting from 6 - 6:30 pm in the LHS Main Gym to start the evening.
For parents with students in Athletics, UNLESS YOUR COACH HAS COMMUNICATED OTHERWISE, please be aware that during the athletic periods (1st, 4th, and 8th period), coaches will be meeting in the following areas:
- Football - Lecture Hall
- Indoor Sports - Main Gym
- Outdoor Sports - Auxiliary Gym
During the Open House, parents will walk their student's schedule with about 7-8 minutes in each class.
We conduct this style of open house to support our newest parents, so they can experience the school day as their son or daughter would. If you have multiple students, feel free to switch schedules to meet you and your family's needs. We are aware that some parents would like a more come-and-go approach so that they can spend more time with teachers to discuss their child's individual needs and interests. If you would like to spend more time with a teacher, feel free to set up a meeting time, make a phone call or at the very least communicate via an e-mail. One of our core values at LHS is to work with parents and establish a partnership with them throughout the year so that we can best serve your student(s) and their needs.

Sign-Up to be a Senior Project Judge
Senior Project is an exciting part of every LHS senior's experience as they explore topics of their choice and share what they learn with members of the community. There are different components of the project including creating a proposal, writing an annotated bibliography, and completing an activity. As the culminating event of their Senior Project, students give an 8-10 minute presentation about their experience to a panel of adult volunteer judges. These judges score students on their presentation skills and give them feedback designed to help them in their future pursuits. As the Senior Project Coordinators, we want to extend to you the invitation to share in this experience as a Senior Project Judge. Presentations will take place this year at Lovejoy High School on November 15th, December 7th, January 17th and February 16th. Presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. and should conclude by 9:00 at the latest. Dinner will be provided each evening.
**Please note: There are only 4 opportunities to serve as a Senior Project judge this year. As a result, we will require more judges per evening than we traditionally needed in the past.
If you would like to sign up, please visit the website below.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
