Your body is a battleground
(through June 9) focuses on the many ways art and artists have moved the pro-choice and feminist movements forward. Featuring a wide range of artistic disciplines, all artworks in the exhibition are available for bidding through the online auction house Paddle8 during the run of the show.
This exhibition and auction support Personal PAC, a nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to protecting and advancing reproductive rights for all women. Visit

MVCC Juried Student Exhibition at Robert F. DeCaprio Gallery

This annual selection of student work shows the breadth and depth of the college's emerging artistic talent. Featuring work from all areas of study, including painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, design, and printmaking.
The accompanying atrium display will feature designs for this year's exhibition poster and invitation card competition.

Opoku (b. 1976) is a German born, Accra-based artist whose work includes installations, photography and video. She explores the sophistication of textile cultures in disparate spaces targeting fashion's political and psychological role and socio-cultural dynamics in relation to African history and individualistic or societal identities.
Opoku received an MFA from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and has been included in exhibitions nationally and internationally. In 2015 alone she was featured Material Effects at the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum, East Lansing, Michigan; in Future Africa: Visions in Time in Denmark; in Making Africa at the Guggenheim Bilbao; and Making Africa at the Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Switzerland.

Each summer the Associate Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago hosts an event and exhibition to benefit its renowned art therapy program.
This year, the 14th Annual Art in Motion opening celebration will take place on Thursday, May 5 from 5:30-9pm at Northwestern University's Lurie Center, Ryan Family Atrium at 303 East Superior (60611) in Streeterville.
James Rondeau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, designated the most outstanding works submitted by hundreds of artists from around the country. This festive evening embodies the generosity of both professional & patient artists who donate artwork sales proceeds to the RIC Art Therapy program.
