Reinhardt University hosted the Sept. 1 Cherokee Chamber of Commerce's Good Morning Cherokee Breakfast.The entertaining program included remarks from President Kina Mallard and performances by Reinhardt music and theatre students. 2016 10-Under-10 Alumna Award winner and Tate Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Mallory Childers '10, shared her story and Reinhardt Experience, with the large audience of leaders from Cherokee County.
RU professor selected for prestigious Templeton Foundation fellowship

Reinhardt University's Dr. Donna Coffey Little, professor of English, is one of 15 applicants nationwide to be a Think Write Publish Fellow in Science & Religion, a John Templeton Foundation-funded initiative.

Chosen from a pool of more than 650 applicants, the prestigious selection will give Dr. Little the opportunity to explore the true relationship between religion and science.

"I am excited to participate in the national conversation about how faith and science go hand in hand," Dr. Little said. "Reinhardt, as a Methodist affiliated institution, has always promoted the integration of faith and learning, which is part of why I love teaching here. I will be in conversation with theologians, scientists and writers from all over the country, and I'll be able to bring back these experiences and share them with the Reinhardt community."   ...  Read More

First weeks of school see high involvement

The 2016-17 academic year kicked off with high energy and great involvement, according to the Office of Student Affairs.

"For the first weeks of school, we've had a large amount of student involvement on campus and a lot of energy and excitement from the students," said Dr. Walter May, assistant dean of students and director of student affairs. "At the series of Welcome Week events, we saw large turnouts. Over 100 students came to watch the outdoor movie, and we have the largest group of students involved in the induction ceremony than we've had in previous years." ...  Read More

Support ADay for Reinhardt in run/walk or with ribbons

The 2016-17 ADay for Reinhardt campaign officially kicked off at Featherstone's Grill at BridgeMill Club on Aug. 19 with members of the  ADay Committee, Reinhardt President Kina Mallard and Reinhardt administration and staff in attendance.

ADay is a campaign that raises scholarship funds for Cherokee County residents attending Reinhardt University. Since 1988, ADay has generated more than $4.8 million for qualified students. ...    Read More
Funk Heritage Center to participate in Museum Day Live!

Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Magazine, and the Funk Heritage Center of Reinhardt University is participating again this year. During the nationwide event, participating museums offer free entrance anyone presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket on Saturday, Sept. 24. 

One ticket is permitted for each household, per e-mail address. Those joining persons entering for free will be charged the regular Funk Heritage Museum entry fee of $6. Download your ticket at smithsonian.com/museumdaylive. Printed tickets or tickets presented on a mobile device will be honored. As always, Reinhardt faculty, staff and students can attend at no cost with their ID card.

Regular services and special trips available through Campus Ministry

Faith is a part of Reinhardt's guiding values, combined with education and leadership in an effort to send well-rounded individuals into the work place upon graduation.

Rev. Ted Goshorn, Reinhardt's newly appointed Minister to Students, was officially welcomed with a reception on Wednesday, Aug. 31. He expressed his excitement about new worship and special events throughout each semester. 

Reinhardt's Campus Worship is held every Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Hasty Student Life Center.

"The point is to 'Selah,' to take a purposeful pause to encounter the living God," Goshorn said, adding Selah is referenced 78 times in Psalms and was an indication to pause during the song and rest, as well as to absorb what one has just read/heard/sang. ... Read More

Eagles shine in season opener

Reinhardt's defense carried the day as the No. 11 Eagles did not allow any offensive points in a 55-2 victory over Point University in the season opener in front of 2,167 fans at Ken White Field.

"Defensively, we got a shutout tonight, and that's hard to do," said RU head coach Drew Cronic.  "Especially with as good as offenses are nowadays, we did a really great job of keeping [Point] out of the end zone and from scoring any points. I've said from the first day of practice this year that our defense is going to have to be our strength, and we really looked athletic out there." ... Read More
Lady Eagles stay perfect to start 2016

No. 22 Reinhardt scored four goals in the first half and never looked back as the Lady Eagles defeated Bob Jones, 7-3, Tuesday afternoon in women's soccer action in Greenville, S.C.

Adrien Merrilles had a four-point game thanks to two goals (including the opening tally) and two assists. Katie Goodrich added the first hat trick of the season for Reinhardt, with Alexis Davis and Megan Monroe adding the other two goals for the Lady Eagles. ...
