The Irwin-Simpson Road Widening Project is Complete!
The Irwin-Simpson Road Widening Project has been completed two months ahead of schedule!
The road has been widened between Charleston Park Drive and Butler-Warren Road. Previously, improvements were made to Irwin-Simpson Road from Nottingham Way to Charleston Drive. The new road was built to match the section that was completed two years ago, widening it to a new three-lane section.
A sidewalk was also built on the north side of the road. Storm sewer, curb and gutter improvements have also been made.
Roadway resurfacing and sewer work was done along Auburn Place, and E & W Plain Drive as part of this project.

The widening of Irwin-Simpson will help to alleviate congestion and stop-n-go traffic during peak travel times. The new sidewalk will provide safer pedestrian walkways to destinations like Cottell Park and Deerfield Towne Centre. And new curb and gutter work, along with storm sewer improvements, will improve safety and travel on this section of road by more efficiently moving water from the roadway during periods of heavy rain.
