7th Grade Sound-to-Sea Program
Trinity Travels
This week, the middle school has been a bit quieter as the 7th grade is making its annual trip to the Trinity Center in Salter Path to participate in the Sound-to-Sea program. During their three day trip, students have taken classes on a variety of coastal environments, including the sound, salt marshes, the beach, freshwater ponds, and maritime forests. In addition, they are learning about the anatomy and physiology of Bogue Sound animals by dissecting a squid. Students also complete a challenge course designed to build trust and  teamwork skills. Most importantly, the students are bonding as a class and making memories to last a lifetime.

Spring Break Trip to Italy
Viva l'Italia!
Once again, Ridgecroft's Spring Break will feature a European tour with Mrs. Margaret Newbern. This year, the destination is Italy! Here is your chance to stand in St. Peter's Square and visit the Colosseum in Rome; see Juliet's balcony in Verona; gaze upon Michelangelo's David and watch skilled glass blowers in Venice; visit Pisa's famous Leaning Tower, and much, much more. The tour, "Italy's Great Cities,"  departs  from Raleigh on April 15, 2017 and returns on April 23. The cost is $3953 per person, including air fare, transfers, a 7 Night/8 day escorted tour, and guide and driver gratuities. Single and triple occupancy pricing is available upon request. For more information, please contact Margaret Newbern.

Spring Break Mission Trip to Nicaragua
Rams on a Mission
Ridgecroft's Fellowship of Christian Athletes, along with sponsors Megan Somers and Susan Oliver, is planning a Spring Break mission trip to Nicaragua with Students International (SI). SI is a Christian mission organization serving the poor of Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Fiji. Students will work in their choice of several different areas of ministry, including education, social work, health care, occupational therapy, sports, and agriculture. To learn more about SI, visit www.stint.com or click here to watch a video about the group.

The trip will take place April 15 - 23, 2017 and will cost approximately $1,800 per participant. Students will be fundraising for the trip and there is also a Go Fund Me page set up to help with expenses. All donations are tax deductible and will be divided equally among trip participants. For more information, contact Megan Somers or Susan Oliver.

Clipping Cash!
Each of those little pink squares may be worth only 10 cents, but they add up quickly. During the 2015-16 school year, Ridgecroft earned more than $1000 from Box Tops for Education! The PTO used that money to provide teachers with classroom equipment like LCD projectors, file cabinets, and much more. So, keep clipping!
Turn your Groceries into Greenbacks!
