It has been a beautiful summer in the Northeast Kingdom!  We hope you enjoyed the sunshine, as September sends us all back to school and back inside!  Thanks everyone who joined the Council Meeting in August to discuss the implementation of publicly funded Pre Kindergarten in our region.  

 

Don't miss the upcoming meeting on Monday, September 12th (note day and location change due to the Labor Day Holiday).  We will dive into the Orleans and Northern Essex Regional Action Plan and discuss how we will work together to implement the strategies it outlines.

Candidates Forums
The Regional Council, along with the Lets Grow Kids Newport Action Team and local newspapers are working together to host candidates forums for local house and senate races.  There will be two opportunities to have a voice in planning these events on Monday, September 12th at the 1 pm Regional Council Meeting or at the 6 pm Newport Action Team Meeting at the North Country Career Center.

Vermont Early Childhood Alliance Agenda Setting Process
It might seem early, but its time to set the VECA Legislative Agenda for 2017.  For more information regarding how the process works or to propose an issue visit their site:

Hunger Council Meeting 
The Northeast Kingdom Hunger Council meetings will begin again after a summer break Friday, September 16th from 10-12 at 19 Village Square in Barton.
