Celebrate creativity and culture across Durham Region for the seventh-annual
Culture Days weekend, taking place Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
This three-day national celebration will see hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations, in hundreds of cities and towns, come together to share their cultural spirit and passion.
Durham Region is proud to be part of this celebration and will be offering dozens of community events alongside artists, creators, historians, architects, curators and designers at work.

Participate in a popular Labour Day tradition! The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is returning for its only Canadian appearance for the
Chevrolet Silverado 250.
This exhilarating event will take place the weekend of Sept. 2 to 4 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Clarington. Joining the trucks will be the NASCAR Pinty's Series and the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, Canadian Touring Car Championship and Nissan Micra Cup.

FALL APPLE HARVEST DRIVING TOUR

Wander down a country path and experience the breathtaking colours that come into view when summer turns to fall in Durham Region!
It's apple season, and in addition to beautiful fall foliage, you will find local orchards overflowing with a variety of crisp, delicious and colourful apples.
This tour will take place both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and participating businesses include Tyrone Mills, Archibald Orchard and Estate Winery, Timeless Essentials, Rosemary Jenkins Pottery, 3Beez.buzz, Gallery on the Farm and Geissberger Farm House Cider.

DURHAM REGION FILM FESTIVAL
|
Lights. Camera. Action! The
Durham Region Film Festival (DRFF) is taking place Sept. 16 to 18. Film lovers will have the opportunity to view more than 50 hand-selected films from around the world, offered in categories such as: animation, documentaries, features, shorts and student films.
Over the course of three days, DRFF will offer official film screenings at the Regent Theatre, Docville Wild West movie set, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, and the historic St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture. Families can also enjoy a fun-filled day at the Docville Wild West movie set to see how a movie is made from script to screen, and attend creative workshops.

As one of the oldest running fairs in the province, the
Orono Fair is one of the more popular tourist events to attend this time of year in Durham Region!
Kicking off the fall-fair season, this fun-filled event takes place from Sept. 8 to 11 at the Orono Fair Grounds.
Hosted by the Orono Agricultural society since 1852, fair-goers can look forward to exquisite displays and competitions involving paintings, photographs, agriculture, livestock, flowers, knitting, woodworking, sewing, crafts, school displays, culinary creations and so much more.
Not to mention, evening concerts and one of the largest midways throughout the area!

TERRY FOX RUN
|
The 36th annual
Terry Fox Run is taking place throughout Durham Region on Sept. 18. This event will be held at several run-sites from 8 to 11:30 a.m., and all ages are welcome to participate. Many sites will also be offering a barbecue and family friendly activities following the run.
This event is in support of the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. No minimum donation is required, and there is no need to pre-register.

Durham Comedy Week is bringing 15 fantastically funny Canadian stand-up comedians for three evenings of side splitting, laugh out loud, good clean fun!
The festival kicks off on Sept. 16 in Whitby at the Heydenshore Pavilion, continuing the hilarity on Sept. 21 in Bowmanville at the Garnet B. Rickard Centre, and closing on Sept. 24 at the Regent Theatre in Oshawa.
You won't want to miss the chance to enjoy these hysterical performances by 15 of Canada's funniest people.
