Return the PTA Membership Form ( pdf form , word form) along with cash/check payment (checks made out to MES/LV PTA) in your child's backpack to school.

Back to School For 4th and 5th Grade, 9/13:

7:00-8:30pm

For Longview, 9/14:
2:00-3:00pm or 6:30-7:30pm

Bar-T will provide childcare during our annual back to school nights. The cost is $3 per child. Children must be over the age of 3 and fully potty trained (no diapers or pull-ups). Please contact [email protected]

to make a reservation. You must make a reservation to make use of the childcare on back to school night.

REQUIRED Volunteer Training
Referenced at Back to School Night

As part of this ongoing effort for the 2016-2017 school year, MCPS has developed training for all volunteers in the district to learn about recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect. While we encourage all community members to engage in this important, informative training, currently we only require individuals who regularly support schools as well as all field trip volunteers to complete the Child Abuse and Neglect training.

	Montgomery TennisPlex Tennis Clubs - 9/20
Registration now open, first come, first served!!! The super popular on-site Tennis Club held by the Montgomery TennisPlex is returning to Matsunaga and is brought to you by the MES/LV PTA . Fall Tennis Club will be held before school in the Matsunaga gym from 8:15AM to 9:15AM * All grade levels welcome * Tennis Makes Me Smart Video

Spirit Day - 9/23

Dress in your favorite Matsunaga or Longview spirit wear OR simply wear school or grade-level colors: Blue or Green for Matsunaga and Red or Yellow for Longview. Yes, all of the new spirit wear from this year, even if not fully green or blue, "counts"! Grade-level colors are as follows:

K-GREEN

1-ORANGE

2-YELLOW

3-PURPLE

4-RED

5-BLUE

The top TWO classes from each grade level at Matsunaga will win a prize this month! The top two classes at Longview will win a banner for their classroom!

Let Me Run Registration NOW OPEN for Let Me Run at Matsunaga!

Connecting Boys Sole to Soul - Let Me Run is much more than a running program for boys. The trained coaches combine running with fun activities and lessons to help boys learn teamwork, build relationship skills, create friendships, grow emotionally, amplify their self-esteem, empower themselves and others, and live an active lifestyle. We nurture and celebrate every aspect of what it really means to be a boy and we let them run.

The LMR program is for 4th and 5th grade boys.
The program runs for 7 weeks and meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school from 8:00am-9:15am.
Let Me Run fee is $100 per student.
Season begins Tuesday, September 27th and culminates with a 5K on Sunday, November 13th.

Save the Date for the second annual Matsunaga/Longview Boosterthon Fun Run! The run will take place on Friday, October 14th. Exact run times TBD. More information coming soon! Reminder: This is our MAJOR Fall Fundraiser!
