CVSA 12th International Family & Adult Conference

Hope continued on Friday, June 24 th , 2016 at the 12 th International Family and Adult Conference held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The CVSA board welcomed one hundred plus cvsers and caretakers from all over the United States.  The conference attendees registered with speed dates with doctors and had the opportunity to talk to medical professionals with experience in treating CVS. The most exciting part of the conference was the chance for sufferers to meet other cvsers and actually feel they are not alone. The second day of the conference was filled with many presentations including:  doctors on the CVSA medical advisory team discussed CVS in both adults and children. Another highlight was the inspiring "stories of hope" by two cvsers. The topics in the afternoon included everything from going to the emergency room, approach to disability, a school psychologist discussing 504 & IEP plans, and resilience and CVS.

The conference weekend is always very inspiring and creates a feeling of hope to know cvsers are not alone and are accomplishing set goals. The conference itself was a success just based on the awareness it created and helping others understand this perplex illness we call cyclic vomiting syndrome.
