What would this county be without our dedicated active military, veterans and first-responders? Their daily dedication to protecting this country and assisting its citizens is something we often take for granted. They put their lives on the line each and every day and the Detroit Red Wings Training Camp wants to honor them in a special way.
All active military, veterans, police, fire and EMS personnel are invited to attend the Practice/Scrimmage Session on Opening Day of Red Wings Training Camp - Friday, September 23 at 9:30 am - FREE OF CHARGE!
Simply come to the main entrance of Centre Ice Arena that morning and show your military ID or service badge. You'll be admitted as our guest. First come, first served while tickets last.
For anyone in those categories who has already purchased a ticket for that day's event, please show your ticket for the 23rd to Admissions Staff on the 23rd when you arrive and they will provide you a free ticket to either Saturday (9/24) or Sunday's (9/25) morning practice/scrimmage session while supplies last.

Alumni/Celebrity Game Auction Offers Opportunity to Own Rare Piece of Iconic Memorabilia
The Joe. Say those words to any Detroit Red Wings fan and they know exactly what you mean. Joe Louis Arena. The 2016-2017 Season offers the final opportunity to watch a Red Wings game at this iconic arena in the heart of Downtown Detroit.
But before the season even begins, fans who attend the Alumni/Celebrity Game on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 pm during the Red Wings Training Camp will have the opportunity to bid on the first jerseys to bear the "farewell season at The Joe" insignia. The game-worn jerseys - some white, some camouflage, bearing the name of and signed by the celebrity player - will be sold during a silent auction which opens one hour before game time and closes promptly at the end of the first period. Each jersey is an original piece of Detroit Red Wings history.
Proceeds from auctioned items - and from all DRW Events in TC for that matter - benefit I.C.E., the non-profit organization of Centre Ice and Howe Arena. Don't miss your chance to take home a piece of Detroit Red Wings history while supporting these community ice rinks!

Kronwall to Attend 2016 Detroit Red Wings Training Camp
In light of being plagued by a bad left knee this past season, Niklas Kronwall has decided to forego playing for Team Sweden in the World Cup and will, instead, attend Detroit Red Wings Training Camp at Centre Ice although his level of participation remains unclear.
According to an August 24 Detroit Free Press article, Red Wings' GM Ken Holland was quoted as saying "it's a decision Kronner made. I talked to him a week to 10 days ago and he told me he was feeling better and that he wanted to represent his country, but he wanted to be 100% for Sweden and he wanted to be 100% for the Red Wings.
Niklas does not feel his knee is 100%, and he'd rather go to camp with us in another month than with Sweden in a week. The Red Wings are his No. 1 priority, and another month of strength and conditioning will give him the best chance to be healthy for the upcoming season."
We wish Niklas all the best and look forward to seeing him in Traverse City!

There's no other store like it anywhere in the world and it's only open for 10 days. It's also the only place you can get official merchandise of the TC NHL Prospect Tournament and Detroit Red Wings Training Camp - along with gear from the Detroit Red Wings and some of the other NHL teams that participate in the prospect tourney - and it's right here at Centre Ice Arena.
