LEGO Club! Mondays and Tuesdays after school, September 19 - October 11
Mondays 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.: Kids grades Pre K-Grade 3 - Free Building. Come have fun building with simple projects and contests. Not a drop off. Please register.
Tuesdays 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.: Kids grades 4 and up - LEGO Robotics! Come explore our awesome LEGO Windstorm robots. Learn to build and program them! Space is limited to 8 participants. Please register.

Every Saturday from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Gentle Hatha Yoga with Barrie Kavasch. Enjoy easy practical yoga postures designed to strengthen balance and the back. We focus on "mindfulness" and "relaxation" along with building strong bodies through strengthening bones, joints, and muscles with classic stretches. Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind and help to promote overall wellness. It is one of the latest ways in reducing stress, and not to mention, extremely popular. Friday, September 16, 23, 30 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Writing Your Life. An eight-week writing program taught by Betty Krasne, PhD. This memoir writing workshop meets once a week for two hours. Program is full, can only accommodate 12 participants.

Saturday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. Poetry Group. The workshop is free and open to all serious poets who want to develop their work and accept meaningful critique in a small circle of area writers. This workshop is led by author/illustrator E. Barrie Kavasch. Please register.

Saturday, September 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monthly Chess Club. The competition is open to young and old, beginners to advanced. Team combinations are encouraged - for instance, grandparent and parent-child, co-workers, friends. If someone does not have a team, he or she will be matched up at the club. Please register.

Saturday, September 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Kent Town Government: Direct Democracy. A Program in Celebration of Constitution Day. Join us in an exploration of the origins and current day form of Kent's Town Hall Form of Government and practice your vote in a MOCK Town Hall meeting! Featuring: Bruce Adams, Paul Dooley, Marge Smith, and Peter Vermilyea. Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent. Please register.

Volunteers are needed to do tasks such as: Set Up, Book Sorting, Book Pricing, Table Stocking, Opening & Closing (tarping) and more. Please email Eric Cieplik at [email protected] or sign-up at the front desk at the Library.
 
Book Donations are always welcome!
We are pleased to accept your books year round.If you have a large donation, please call ahead to facilitate unloading the books at the old firehouse.
We can you give a tax card for a charitable donation. All sales benefit the Kent Memorial Library. We are always especially in need of current fiction, including children's books, jigsaw puzzles, movies on DVD, music and books on CDs, and non-fiction books. (there are particuar items we cannot accept, such as magazines, Reader's Digest condensed books, older textbooks, VCR tapes, encyclopedias, books which have a mildew odor, records, books on cassettes.)
