It was the opportunity she had been hoping for, allowing her to combine her background in community and public health with her interest in public policy and work with the community of her adopted hometown of Camden, where her husband Eddie grew up. Approximately 6.6 percent of all cases of childhood asthma are attributable to excess weight. More than 100,000 children ages 5 to 14 suffer from asthmas each year because of overweight and obesity. |

New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids is a statewide program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with technical assistance and direction provided by the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance. The primary goal is to convene, connect and empower community partnerships across the state to implement environmental and policy changing strategies that prevent childhood obesity and create healthier communities.
