News Flash-Trenton Receives Complete Streets Champion Award
 NJPHK-Trenton and the Trenton Green team recently received the Complete Streets Champion Award. The award recognized the leadership and support of designing a Complete Streets policy that makes it easier and safer to move around the city-whether residents are walking, driving, bicycling, riding a bus, shopping, or sightseeing. Trenton Healthy Food Network Launches with Four Stores
 The goal of the Trenton Healthy Food Network is to increase the availability and sales of healthy, affordable food in local stores and bodegas. "More than half of Trenton children are overweight or obese" said Marissa Davis, project manager of NJPHK-Trenton. "Our goal is to make it easy for Trenton families to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other healthy foods." Read more

Facts About Childhood Obesity
Children and adolescents with a BMI greater than 28 are four to five times more likely to suffer from sleep-disordered breathing than their peers with a lower BMI.

New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids is a statewide program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with technical assistance and direction provided by the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance. The primary goal is to convene, connect and empower community partnerships across the state to implement environmental and policy changing strategies that prevent childhood obesity and create healthier communities.
