Weight limits placed on two additional County bridges


	Old Highway 47 Bridge over Carpenter Creek

New weight restrictions were put on two additional Washington County bridges after recent inspections identified the need for extensive repairs and/or limiting the weight of loads that can safely cross.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved the weight limits for bridges on Fern Flat Road (over a Dairy Creek tributary) and Old Highway 47 (over Carpenter Creek).

Including these two bridges, Washington County has 14 weight-restricted bridges. That number is expected to increase as the County's growing road and bridge maintenance needs continue to outpace available funding. Media release KeepRoadsSafe.org

All paving work is weather-dependent and schedules may be adjusted due to changes in the weather or for other unforeseen circumstances.


	Sept. 6 Laidlaw Road closure

Laidlaw Road will be closed between NW 140th Avenue and NW Lakeview Drive from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sept. 6 for installation of a pedestrian bridge. Local access will available. The project, scheduled for completion in October, includes construction of a shoulder on the north side of Laidlaw and a separated pathway at the project's west end.
ODOT is advising travelers to expect lane closures during nighttime road striping from 6:30 p.m.-7 a.m. through Sept. 2 on Cornelius Pass Road (from U.S. 26 to TV Highway), 185th Avenue (from U.S. 26 to TV Highway), Murray Boulevard (from U.S. 26 to Scholls Ferry Road) and Scholls Ferry Road (from Murray Boulevard to OR 217).
Rock Creek Boulevard between Malhuer Avenue and Rock Creek Drive will be down to one lane from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays Sept. 1-30 for construction of a sidewalk on the north side. Flaggers will direct traffic. Expect delays.
Nighttime installation of a sanitary sewer, storm drains and water lines at the intersection of Farmington Road at Murray Boulevard will take traffic down to one lane from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. starting Sept. 5 through October. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic around the lane closures. All travelers are urged to use alternate routes, such as Allen Blvd or Tualatin-Valley Highway. Media release
The southbound lanes of Brookwood Parkway, between Evergreen Parkway and Dawson Creek Drive, will be closed from 9 p.m. Sept. 9 to 5 a.m. Sept. 11 for reconstruction of the existing roadway. Detours will include Dawson Creek Drive and Evergreen Parkway.
175th Avenue will be closed at Rigert Road from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 for right-of-way improvements as part of the Oldham Meadows project. The detour route includes Scholls Ferry Road, Murray Boulevard and Hart Road. The improvements are part of the Oldham Meadows subdivision, under development by Evergreen Pacific Inc. Media release
Purdin Road is closed at Hwy 47 through September for construction of a roundabout at Hwy 47 and Verboort-Purdin roads. Media release
