Wanna fix something? Join a group of Parkway folks and some others who are going to work with the St. Bernard Project (SBP) in New Orleans, Louisiana (yes, still post Katrina). Small Group Discussion Gatherings:
Last spring the Tuesday Evening Discussion
group read  Beyond Resistance,  a book by John Dorhauer, the General Minister and President of the United Church of Christ. As part of the Healthy Spirits/Healthy Relationships segment of the Sabbatical, we have set up small group discussions groups to share a meal and discuss questions raised by Dr Dorhauer. Examples of the questions are: what does the church mean to you?  How do you connect to it in spirit and actions? How can we help our church grow in mission to better serve each other and our neighbors? What's most important to you about Parkway?

Please sign up for one of these groups in the Gathering Space. You don't have to read the book but you may want to pick up one of the summary pamphlets called Our Mission is Businessin the Gathering Space.

Please see Helen Race for any questions:  [email protected]   or call 314-401-4382.

Inspiration
Grace isn't about God creating humans and flawed beings and then acting all hurt when we inevitably fail and then stepping in like the hero to grant us grace--like saying, "Oh, it's OK, I'll be the good guy and forgive you." It's God saying, "I love the world too much to let your sin define you and be the final word. I am a God who makes all things new."
