NB and SB I-35 lanes closed overnight for pavement repair Aug. 30-Sept. 2

The Kansas Department of Transportation has a project underway to repair and resurface a 10-mile stretch of northbound and southbound I-35 from 95th Street to Southwest Boulevard, including adjacent interchange ramps.

The following northbound and southbound I-35 lanes will be closed for full- and partial-depth pavement patching work this week, weather permitting.

8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31
  • NB I-35 right three lanes closed from 95th Street to U.S. 69 closed. One through lane open. ***Drivers should expect major delays and use alternate routes.***
  • NB I-35 right two lanes closed from 75th Street entrance ramp to I-635. Two through lanes open.
8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, to 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1
  • NB I-35 left lane closed from 95th Street to U.S. 69. Two through lanes open.
  • NB I-35 right two lanes closed from 75th Street entrance ramp to I-635. Two through lanes open.
  • SB I-35 left lane closed from Southwest Boulevard to Lamar Avenue. Two through lanes open.
8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, to 5 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2
  • NB I-35 right lane closed from 95th Street to U.S. 69. Two through lanes open.
  • NB I-35 right two lanes closed from 75th Street entrance ramp to I-635. Two through lanes open.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via advance message boards, signage, barricades and cones.

This repair and resurfacing project is scheduled to be completed in late October 2016, weather permitting.
