The Homestead Neighborhood Association normally meets the First Tuesday of every month, 7pm at the OHSU Child Development and Rehabilitation Center; 707 SW Gaines, Third Floor. 
 

Portland Park Bureau begins selective spraying for invasive species late August and early September
 
As part of the "Connecting Urban Forest Project", Portland Parks will begin spraying in targeted areas, Terwilliger Parkway, Marquam Nature Park and Keller Woods. All within the Homestead Boundaries.
 
"Selective Spray Treatment: Starting in late summer, invasive species in the most challenging terrain within the parks will be treated. Professional treatments are timed to ensure greater effectiveness and avoid impacts to ground nesting birds. All work will be guided by PP&R's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy-a nationally recognized program utilizing best practices for invasive plant management." The Park Bureau has begun to post informational signage and has sent a map of the area to be sprayed along with an FAQ document. Also attached is background information about Homestead's support and participation in the removal of invasive species. (Note: additional 'weedy tree work' will be done this winter.)
