Mark your calendars for Back to School night tonight. The evening will begin at 6:30pm with classroom visits for Grades K-5, in two sessions (6:30pm and 7:00pm). Preschool will meet in the classrooms from 7:00-7:30pm. We will gather in the gym for a meeting from 7:30-8:00pm and then middle school parents will meet at 8:00pm in their child's homeroom. We will be asking for volunteers for room parents. Please consider this important role and let your classroom teacher know if you are willing to serve in that role. Thank you in advance. At our meeting, the regional manager for Smart Lunches will be here, so please be prepared to give her any feedback.

We had a wonderful celebration of Our Blessed Mother's birthday last Thursday and ended the day with popsicles in Her honor.

Yesterday we had the fortune of welcoming a professional photographer to our school, who spent the morning take many photos that we can use for marketing, etc. This is part of a program from the Office of Catholic Schools, and we are grateful to them for providing this service.

Online standardized testing began this week with 6th and 7th grades. So far so good! Next week we will test grades 4 and 5. We are still working on the 3rd grade schedule. Again, we ask that your child be at school on time and well-rested.

I hope to see many of you at the parish mission (Sept. 17-21) and at the parish picnic on Sept. 25.

If you know of something interesting going on in our community, or want to give a shout out to someone at the school, please send it in to me. I especially love pictures. Please contact Mrs. Rowley to make sure that we have permission to publish pictures of every student in the picture and make sure the pictures are less than 5MB. Submissions are due by Mondays at 5pm. Thank you!

Community Corner

7th and 8th Grade Dance

St Bernadette School is hosting the first middle school dance of the year and our 7th & 8th grade students are invited to attend from 7-9 PM on Friday, September 30. See the upcoming Wednesday folder for details. Parents must complete the permission slip and students must bring it with them in order to be admitted to the dance. Our middle school teachers also serve as chaperones. Cell phones will be collected at the door. Cost is $7.00. Light refreshments will be provided.
