Residential development continues at a rapid pace downtown dt

Currently in downtown St. Petersburg, 2,092 residential units are either under construction or in permitting. The projects range from smaller developments, such as The Brownstones at 108 4th Ave N with four townhouses and Vela at 779 Delmar Terrace S with 20 condos, to large scale developments, like 801 Central with 386 apartments planned and NRP II at 201 4th Street S with 348 units under construction.

With these projects, there will be approximately 75,000 SF of new retail space coming online. All of this new residential development helps support future development downtown, including the second Publix soon to open on the 700 block of Central Ave, as well as the many new restaurants that continue opening. It also provides more housing for downtown employees and becomes an attractive selling point for the city in courting new businesses.

Check out the Downtown Development Projects Map to learn about current projects.
