Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals

Cultural Vistas invites young American professionals and students to apply for the 2016-2017 Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals fellowship program. Conceived and funded by members of the U.S. Congress and the German Bundestag over 30 years ago, the program is a reciprocal exchange initiative that allows 75 American and 75 German Young Professionals to spend one year in each other’s countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. The program is open to candidates in all career fields.

American recipients of the CBYX fellowship spend a full year of cultural exchange in Germany, including two months of intensive language courses, four months of university classes in their field, and a five-month internship. Program highlights include:
- Broad cultural immersion including intensive language study, exposure to Germany’s higher educational system, and professional work experience in the participant’s field.
- Intensive German language training for the first 8 weeks of the program in Germany. No German language skills required at time of application.
- Federal funding that covers international airfare, a monthly stipend to cover basic living expenses, housing with a German host family or shared apartment, health insurance, and program-related travel within Germany.

The deadline to apply for CBYX is December 1, 2015. More information can be found online at www.cbyx.info, or by contacting Cultural Vistas at [email protected] or 212-497-3522.
