USPA Powerlifting at the SkillCon
For the very first time SkillCon welcomes  USPA POWERLIFTING to the 2016 SkillCon Event week! Events will take place at The Rio Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The divisions will include open, teen, junior, and master's divisions for men & women. Lifts will include bench press, squat and deadlift. This intense event will also include the industry's best known powerlifting vendors and will no doubt be entertaining and inspiring for everyone in attendance.

USPA Powerlifting
The United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) is a leading powerlifting organization in the United States. It is the mission of the USPA to provide education, gym affiliation, and powerlifting competition of uniform high quality which is available to all athletes who meet the criteria for membership throughout the United States.

Our goal is to ensure lifters are provided an opportunity and location to showcase the results of their efforts in a safe and competitive environment. The USPA provides opportunities for a range of lifters from the beginner to the elite level. Participate in a USPA event. "Experience the Difference!"

ABOUT THE MEET
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

This is an open championship. There are no qualifying totals and/or competitions required to enter this championship. All lifters competing in the championship must be a member of USPA Powerlifting. Memberships to USPA Powerlifting can now be purchased on-line here 


AWARDS

Awards will be presented to all 1st - 3rd place finishers, for each weight class and division. Champion of Champions award will be presented to the best overall male and female lifters for the Championship. The overall best lifters will be determined by the Wilks formula.

ADMISSION

All spectators and coaches may enjoy the competition for an admission fee of $15.00.

  • 9:00 am to 11:00 am - Early Equipment Check and weigh in 
  • 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm    - Equipment Check and weigh in 
Sunday- Dec. 18th, 2016
  • 7:00 am to 8:00 am - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Weigh-in/Equipment check
  • Morning Session-
    • 9:00 to 1:00 pm - Commencement of lifting for the Women's classes and Men's 52kg through 75kg
  • Afternoon Session- 
    • 1:00 to 5:00pm - Commencement of lifting for the men's 82.5 kg through SHW weight class
    •  5:30 pm Awards Ceremony for all  Lifting

If you prefer to phone in your reservations, you may call the Reservation Center at 888-746-6955 to secure a reservation on the SkillCon group block. However, there is a processing fee per reservation if you choose to phone in your reservation. When calling in your reservation, use the SkillCon group code:  SRSKL6

 
The reservation cut off date is November 25, 2016. Rates are starting at $65 per night and will increase as room blocks are filled, so be sure to book your reservation early and definitly prior to the cut off date to get group rates. Check in time is 3pm. Check out time is 11am. No outside food or beverage is allowed inside the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino.
 

Travel
The closest Airport is  Las Vegas International Airport  (LAS). By far the most convenient, located just  10 miles, approximately 7 minutes from the venue.

Airport Transportation:
Airport  shuttle ($7.00 one way or Limo by Bell $28-$90) 
Uber is available in Las Vegas. We recommend Uber as the best transportation for the region.
