Fullerton College Celebrates Latino Heritage Month
Fullerton College will help celebrate Latino Heritage Month with several events and workshops that honor the contributions, struggles and successes of the Latino community. Most events begin in mid-September and run through October, with some extending further into the semester.

Online Tutoring Now Available
The Academic Support Center (ASC) has launched a new online tool to help students gain on-demand access to tutors 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Fullerton College Online Tutoring, which is provided by Smarthinking, allows students to chat live with a tutor, submit writing assignments, and gain support for a wide range of subjects including all writing courses, math, accounting, statistics, biology, and many more subjects. How Curiosity, Indecisiveness, and a Sense Of Adventure Changed Me Into a Scientist
The first installment of the Natural Science Division's Speaker Seminar Series is on Tuesday, Sept 13 at 4:30 p.m. in Room 410. This seminar stars Jennifer Palermo, a graduate student in the Department of Geology at Cal State Fullerton and Research Supervisor for the Earth Sciences Undergraduate Research Institute (ESURI) at Fullerton College.

Suicide Prevention, Awareness Event Set of Sept. 13
With Hope, a non-profit organization, will be on campus to discuss suicide prevention and awareness. The Career and Life Planning Center is hosting a resume and cover letter workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the 2000 Building, second floor. Participants will learn how to persuade an employer to invite them to an interview by targeting a resume and cover letter to a particular job.

Study Smarter, Not Harder: Study Strategies for Success
Basic Skills is hosting various student success workshops during Fall 2016. These workshops are open to all Fullerton College students, in any discipline, and are facilitated by graduate students in the Basic Skills Graduate Student Mentorship Program. This week's workshop is on Monday, Sept. 12 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 808A.

The FC football team is now 2-0 after taking it to Cerritos College 31-19 on the road Saturday night.

The Hornets opened up their season at the Saddleback College Tournament winning it all. The team won all four of their games sweeping through the competition.

Men's Water Polo
Fullerton played at the Citrus Tournament over the weekend winning one game out of four. On Friday, the Hornets opened up with a 17-6 loss to Mt. SAC and then won 16-11 against Rio Hondo College. Saturday was a rough one for Fullerton as they lost 8-5 to Ventura College and 18-8 to host Citrus College.
Up Next: Fullerton (2-3 overall) will play in the Mt. SAC Tournament September 16-17.
Men's Soccer
After beating El Camino College 3-0 last Tuesday, the Hornets tied with top-ranked San Bernardino Valley College 1-1 last Friday on the road. The Hornets not only remain undefeated, but they have given notice to the rest of the state that they are one of the better teams in the south.
Up Next: FC (4-0-1) will play at Santiago Canyon College in an Orange Empire Conference match-up on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m.
Women's Soccer
Fullerton struggled at Rio Hondo College last Friday losing to the Road Runners 6-0.
Up Next: FC (1-3 overall) will look to pick it back up on Tuesday, Sept. 13 when they host Santiago Canyon College to open conference-play at 3 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The Hornets hosted the FC Quad Tourney over the weekend splitting both matches they played against Ventura and Santa Barbara Colleges. FC defeated Ventura in a close one 3-2. Against Santa Barbara, Fullerton fell 3-0.

The Hornets opened the season attending the Palomar Invitational at Guajome Park in Oceanside last Friday.
