The St. Anthony Hotel: Historic Landmark Modernized with Rooftop Pool
The  St. Anthony Hotel  was San Antonio's first luxury destination when it opened in 1907. 
During the Swing Era, the hotel's ballroom was a local destination for big band performances and it has since hosted presidents, celebrities, and other dignitaries over its nearly 110 years of operation.  Last year the St. Anthony completed a 2-year major renovation and expansion ( Architects: Overland Partners Inc. , General Contractor: Zachry Construction Corporation) that included a roof top pool and lounge with a view of the downtown skyline.  The outdoor lounge features private cabanas with structural fabric tops fabricated and installed by The Chism Company.  The waterproof fabric tops are made with Ferrari 502 Precontraint fabric cable-tensioned over steel framing.
S.E. Wellness Center: Austin's Innovative Outpatient Clinic 
As a part of Travis County's Central Health system, South East Wellness Center fills a gap in health services for Austin's rapidly growing population.  In 2012 south east Austin was designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area by the federal HHS.  Now primary care, behavioral care, preventative care and pharmaceutical care are available in the setting of a community center rather than a traditional hospital.  S.E. Wellness center combines these health services with the availability of exercise classes, sports and community events.  The Chism Company fabricated and installed a new fabric structure to provide shade and identity to the center's outdoor community and activity area (Architect:  O'Connell Robertson , General Contractor:  Bartlett Cocke General Contractors).   The helical shade panels are made with  Ferari 502 Precontraint fabric.
Bexar County Medical Society Building:
San Antonio's Bexar County Medical Society is Texas' oldest physician's association.  Originally founded in 1853 and now relocating to the city's far north side, the new Bexar County Medical Society building (Architect: Chesney-Morales, General Contractor: RC Page) evokes its long history with a Spanish colonial style.  Imitating the stained wooden pergola's of this architectural style, BCMS's new building features exterior sun control shades fabricated from bronze anodized aluminum.  Chism Company fabricated the exterior shades for the east and west facing windows.  Installation at heights was performed by Winco of South Texas. 

Hilton Palacio del Rio: Fabric Structures Refresh a Riverwalk Landmark
Built for the 1968 HemisFair World Expo, San Antonio's  Hilton Palacio del Rio is famous as one of the first major modular buildings in America.  The hotel's 496 room modules were set into place fully furnished in only 29 days.  The building was designed, built, and occupied in an amazing 202 days.  In 2016 this landmark hotel completed a 34 million dollar renovation which included new fabric structures to provide shade along its River's Edge Cafe on the scenic Riverwalk (Architects:  Douglas Architects; Contractor:  LEH Contractors)
The six fabric sails are made with  Ferrari Soltis 86 mesh.  

JW Marriott:
The JW Marriott Hill Country Resort outside San Antonio features several large swimming pools and water slides surrounded by a lazy river and several private cabanas.  The Chism Company furnished and installed new manually-retractable overhead shades for these cabanas.  The shades utilize the industrial track and trolley system along with  Awntex by Trivantage.
