Wing Beats Article deadline approaching
Hello Folks,

I know you are all busy but I wanted to remind you that we would like to have as many articles as possible from California for the Wing Beats edition that coincides with the AMCA conference in San Diego.

I just heard from the Wing Beats Editor, Stephen Sickerman. He was just checking in with me because he has not received any California papers thus far.

This is just a heads up that the submission deadline is now slightly more than 3 weeks away.

Click here to view the notice with the submission information.

Please let Stephen know right away if you will be sending in an article.

Thank you,

Mosquito spraying shouldn't hurt bees
STOCKTON - Although the San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control District regularly sprays to control adult mosquitoes, that treatment does not appear to be threatening honey bees in San Joaquin County, according to local officials.

The district on Friday said it has not received reports of honey bees in the region dying from Naled, a chemical used during aerial spraying operations to eliminate mosquitoes.

Naled is a primary ingredient in Trumpet EC, one of the sprays the district uses to combat mosquitoes, and was blamed for the death of millions of honey bees in South Carolina earlier this week.

NPDES Coalition Members
The MVCAC Executive Committee has approved the renewal of the NPDES Coalition Agreement for the monitoring and reporting permit for the period 2016-2021. The agreement and rules were emailed to the Districts, please  contact MVCAC Staff if you need another copy.

We need each member of the Coalition to sign and return the permit application either by mail or email.
