We collected 609.65 pounds of food for the New London Food Pantry and waived $656.45 in library fines.

Our annual fundraiser is almost upon us! Help the library increase our book collection by "adopting" a title from a great list of Fiction, Non-Fiction, Young Adult, Spanish and Juvenile titles! This makes a great holiday gift or a wonderful gesture in honor or in memory of a loved one.
We are also very pleased to announce that this year, for the first time, patrons will be able to adopt books online using Pay Pal!

Preparing Your Organization For A Capital Campaign

Are you considering a capital campaign? There are specific things that have been proven necessary for a successful campaign. These include assessing organizational readiness, the case for support and conducting a feasibility study. This workshop will provide you with a basic overview of all these components. In addition, it will answer questions such as "When do we know we're ready?" "How much does it cost to prepare for and run a campaign?" "Do we hire a consultant?" "What does the Board need to do?" "What do I do first, and second, and so on?" What happens to annual giving during a campaign.

Introduction to Grant Seeking for Individuals

Did you know that the library has access to information on 100,000 grantmakers and 2.3 million grants? Grant funds for individual endeavors such as education, research and artistic pursuits are not that easy to find. Attend this class to learn about the Foundation Grants to Individuals database, GrantSpace.org and other helpful resources. A working knowledge of the Internet and Windows are needed for this hands-on session. Space is limited to 10 people and preregistration is required.

Chinese Cultural Program

The presentation will include the essence and uniqueness of the traditional Chinese culture, how the rich tradition interrupted, how the authentic culture is coming back to world stage through genuine artistic values and presentation such as Shen Yun Performing Arts.
The 1-hour session will include a slide and video presentation. The audience will also have a hands-on experience of classical Chinese dance tools like long ribbon and fans.

An Introduction to the Paranormal

The TAPS Home Team are the members of TAPS that you do not see on TV's Ghost Hunters. They remain in New England helping those dealing with the paranormal in their homes.

We will be discussing Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee.
Every month food is ordered from a local restaurant, to be delivered to the library at 5:30 pm, the day of the meeting. If possible, the food will relate thematically to the book. Or not! The menu is available at the Circulation Desk & emailed to everyone registered to attend that month. Participants select and pay for their menu items before the meeting. Please leave your money at the Circulation Desk by 1:30 pm on the day of the book club meeting for that month.

Coloring Therapy - Color A Masterpiece!

Coloring can be a spiritual and meditative experience. Rejuvenate your creativity and bond with your family with a coloring session! Each month will feature a different art masterpiece and will include media such as crayon, colored pencil and marker. All supplies will be provided.

The Roots of American Impressionism Workshop with Lyman Allyn Museum

The Public Library of New London welcomes the Homeschooling Community and New London Public Schoolers on a half day schedule to participate in an educational and fun workshop presented by the Lyman Allyn Museum. Local origins of the American Impressionist movement will be discussed followed by a hands-on art workshop inspired by the work of renowned Connecticut Impressionist artists. Participants will create and design their own landscape painting on canvas to take home.
