Happy Ninety-first Birthday, MTC!
Notes From Sunday's Anniversary Sermon
"WHAT REVEALS HIS GLORY" (Isaiah 61:1-3; Luke 4:18-21
GUEST SPEAKER: PASTOR JOHN CHANDLER CLEVELAND**

We are reminded of the coming Messiah's glory, grace, and splendor to the Church of Jesus Christ, that is to . . . "preach good tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." The Anointed One ushers us into the year of the Lord's favor. It is the anointing the breaks the yoke.

However, a divine exchange is necessary, which affects the entire human soul. Jesus offers "beauty for ashes" (the mind), "oil of joy and gladness for mourning (the emotions), and "garments of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness (the will). It is a personal choice whether or not one will enjoy the blessings of his or her freedom in Christ. Jesus has opened the prison door, but we must choose to walk out to freedom. Prolonged sorrow, mourning, grieving, despondency, discouragement, depression, and contrition do not bring glory to God.

Our legal honor, privilege, and rights are already written in the courts of heaven; therefore let the Word of God and high praises be in your mouth! Your sustained freedom brings glory to God. -Pastor John Chandler Cleveland
